No matter what else you do to get your house sold, be sure to do your best job of cleaning it up before you put it on the market. Putting it out there before you’ve done the improvements will cause you to ask less for it. It will then be difficult to try and raise the price once you’ve cleaned up the landscaping and painted it a bright, new color.
The size and any outstanding features that exist on the property will add to the price. If your house is in a hot, dry climate and there is a nice pool in the yard, you can ask for more. A home gym, a circular driveway, a large deck with entertaining area, are all examples of things that can add to the asking price of your home.
